What is Botox for hair

Botox for hair  is a deep conditioning procedure in which strands are saturated with compositions containing keratin, collagen, amino acids, oils, vitamins.

Despite its bright name, this variant of salon care has nothing to do with botulinum toxin injections. The procedure was named so because of the effect it has on the hair: after a cocktail of useful substances, the hair becomes smooth, flowing and renewed, as if they were rejuvenated.

What kind of Botox to choose

There are two types of Botox for hair - hot and cold. They differ in both the technique of execution and the effect.

  • Hot - this is a technology in which the composition is applied to the strands, and then sealed with an iron. This method of execution allows you to eliminate frizz, make curls smooth, docile. Temperature exposure contributes to the formation of a protective film, so the hair is protected from splitting, less breakage, better tolerate temperature effects. However, the main purpose of the hot technique is to achieve an expressive external effect.

  • Cold is a method aimed at restoring the structure from the inside. The master does not treat the strands with an iron. Therefore, it is impossible to achieve perfect smoothness with this technique. But the therapeutic components penetrate more deeply into the structure of hairs, restoring and filling them from the inside. This gives nourishment, strengthening, healthy look.

Principle of action

Components of the compositions used for the procedure, deeply penetrate into the structure of hair, filling damaged areas. Due to this, the hair becomes denser, smoother, shinier. The more precise impact depends on the type of composition used. As a rule, the standard version contains:

  • hyaluronic acid;

  • keratin;

  • amino acids;

  • vitamins;

  • natural oils;

  • silk proteins, etc.

Different manufacturers create different combinations of useful ingredients, adding plant extracts, proteins, peptides, as well as patented unique components (e.g. silver matrix or Intra-Cylane molecule).

This is a gentle version of salon care - it is suitable for severely damaged hair, including strands that will not tolerate keratin straightening. There are also no restrictions on color or the presence of coloring.

But there are also conditional disadvantages, for example:

  • the effect lasts from 1 to 4 months, depending on the power of the composition;

  • to achieve the maximum effect of recovery requires a course of 3-4 procedures;

  • clients prone to allergies may have an allergic reaction to the components of the composition;
